Publicity cum Exhibition stall in Kumbh Mela, 2013
A publicity cum exhibition stall was put up by SIFPSA and NHHM-UP in the publicity ground of Kumbh Mela on the bank of SANGAM, Allahabad. SIFPSA coordinated and facilitated the exterior and interior designing of the stall, development of IEC materials and managed other activities. Publicity materials support was also provided by NRHM development partners.
The Publicity cum exhibition stall was inaugurated by Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Commissioner Allahabad who appreciated the dissemination of information and praised the efforts of the team.
The main attractions of the stall were folk shows performed by Nautanki, Puppet, Magic and Birha troupes focusing on ANC, institutional delivery and family planning messages. Publicity gallery was full of materials related to various NRHM ongoing health schemes including Maternal and Child health services, Nutrition, Child Immunization, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram, Family Planning services, Ashirwad Bal guarantee Yojana, Ambulance Services of 108 under Samajwadi Swasthya Sewa EMTS, role of ASHA workers and other national programs etc for public display.
Counselling services managed in two shifts by qualified lady doctors on family planning methods, RTI/STI and other MCH and reproductive health issues also fascinated the mass.
- Total 362282 people visited the stall during Kumbh Mela.
- Total 189 folk performances were organized in the stall. Message delivery through Folk shows was vey much liked by the audience.
- Total 1496 people received counselling services by lady doctors.
- Total 9004 people also gave Feedback on exhibition activities.
- Staff from voucher scheme and other officers worked round the clock to manage the stall.
- Information on Male sterilization (NSV) and other spacing methods like IUCD, ANC and neo natal care were well appreciated.
