The tri-party Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between Community Empowerment Lab (CEL), National Health Mission (NHM), Uttar Pradesh and SIFPSA on 15th April 2015. Community Empowerment Lab (CEL) is a leading interdisciplinary global health research and innovation organization embedded in rural UP with extensive expertise in scientifically robust design and evaluation of neonatal, child and maternal health intervention models, and their scale-up through health system based as well as alternative approaches such as self-help groups, social enterprise etc.
With the signing of MoU, it is expected that CEL will bring its scientific expertise, vast experience and global partnerships to work in close collaboration with National Health Mission and SIFPSA in several areas including Kangaroo Mother Care, community case management of sepsis, evidence based research and program design to improve health service delivery.
On this occasion an infotainment program by Jaya Founder band which is an all women band spread the message on "Save the girl child and female foeticide". Folk shows like Magic and Birha were also organized to attract the audience. Huge numbers of college students were also present to enjoy the Mela. They were informed about adolescent Health issues by counselors. Free condom distribution facility was there in Mela.
The MoU was signed by Mr.Amit Kumar Ghosh, Mission Director,National Health Mission, Mr.Rigzin Samphel, Additional Executive Director,SIFPSA and Dr.Vishwajeet Kumar, Director and Principal Scientist,CEL. On this occasion, Mr.BK Jain,General Manager(R&E/FPIS/BD), SIFPSA was also present.
